Bijrani Zone, located near Ramnagar, is one of the most popular zones in Jim Corbett National Park. Known for its open grasslands and dense Sal forests, this zone is a prime habitat for Bengal tigers, elephants, and various species of deer. The entry gate is Amdanda, which is just a few kilometers from the town. Bijrani is perfect for tourists who seek both thrill and beauty in the wild. The morning and evening jeep safaris offer a high chance of tiger spotting due to the zone’s open terrain.

For those who wish to immerse themselves fully in nature, Bijrani offers forest rest house accommodation. Staying overnight gives visitors an unmatched opportunity to hear jungle sounds at night and enjoy early morning safaris directly from the rest house.
Day visit jeep safaris in Bijrani are allowed from 15th October to 30th June every year. Two safari slots are available daily — morning and evening. In each slot, 30 jeeps are permitted to enter the zone. To ensure a safe and informative experience, having a registered guide is mandatory with every safari jeep.

For those who want to stay inside the jungle, night stay is available at the Bijrani Forest Rest House. However, this facility is only open from 15th November to 15th June. Staying overnight lets visitors enjoy the raw wilderness, hear the jungle sounds at night, and start the early morning safari straight from the rest house — even before the main gate opens for others.

Jhirna Zone, situated on the southern edge of Jim Corbett National Park, is one of the most accessible and wildlife-rich zones in the reserve. The entry gate for this zone is Dhela Gate, which is around 15 kilometers from Ramnagar city. This zone is famous for its diverse flora and fauna, including Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and various species of birds.
One of the biggest advantages of Jhirna is that it’s open throughout the year for day visit jeep safaris, unlike other zones that remain closed during monsoon. However, during periods of heavy rainfall, the zone may be temporarily closed for visitor safety.

For those seeking a deeper connection with the jungle, night stay is also available at the Jhirna Forest Rest House. However, this facility is only operational from 15th November to 15th June. Staying overnight in the heart of the forest gives visitors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the wild in its truest form — from hearing the sounds of the jungle at night to waking up with the calls of birds and animals.
Jhirna offers two safari slots daily – morning and evening. In each slot, 30 jeeps are allowed to enter. A registered guide is mandatory with every vehicle to ensure safety and provide valuable information about the forest and its wildlife.

Dhela Zone is the newest addition to Jim Corbett National Park, opened in 2014. This zone is known for its diverse flora and fauna, including elephants, leopards, and over 200 species of birds. It shares its boundary with Jhirna and has a mix of dense forest, water bodies, and open spaces.

Though it currently does not offer night stay options, Dhela is ideal for day safari lovers who want to explore relatively undisturbed wilderness. The safari trails are serene and offer a tranquil experience with fewer crowds compared to other zones.
For those who wish to stay overnight in the jungle, Dhela Zone offers forest rest house accommodations. These stays are permitted from 15th November to 15th June, giving guests a chance to spend a night amidst raw nature and enjoy early morning safaris directly from the rest house. Staying overnight enhances the chances of wildlife sightings, especially before the rush of daytime visitors.

Phanto Zone, located in the western range of Jim Corbett National Park near Ramnagar, is one of the park’s most peaceful and offbeat wildlife zones. Nestled amidst dense sal forests and bamboo thickets, this zone lies behind the more popular Jhirna and Dhela zones, offering a raw and untouched safari experience for those who wish to escape touristy crowds.

Phanto is open for day visit jeep safari all year round, making it an excellent option even during months when other zones may be closed. However, in case of very heavy rainfall, the park authorities may temporarily close the zone for safety. Each day, the forest department permits 50 jeeps in the morning slot and 50 jeeps in the evening slot. A registered nature guide is mandatory with each jeep to ensure visitor safety and enhance the jungle experience.
Though not as commercialized, Phanto offers forest rest house accommodation where guests can stay overnight in the midst of forest landscapes. It’s a hidden gem for those seeking solitude and nature immersion in Corbett’s wild core.

Garjiya Zone is a newly opened safari zone in Jim Corbett National Park, gaining popularity due to its strategic location and easy access. It is ideal for tourists staying in or around Ramnagar. Garjiya is known for its scenic beauty, flowing riverbanks, and a good population of herbivores and birds.

Although overnight stay facilities are not currently available inside the zone, its proximity to resorts and lodges outside the gate makes it convenient for tourists. The zone offers great views of the landscape and is perfect for a relaxed yet adventurous jungle experience.
Garjiya offers two safari slots daily – morning and evening. In each slot, 30 jeeps are allowed to enter. A registered guide is mandatory with every vehicle to ensure safety and provide valuable information about the forest and its wildlife.

Durgadevi Zone is a paradise for bird watchers and nature photographers. Situated on the northeastern edge of the park, this zone features rugged terrain, hilly areas, and the Ramganga river flowing through it. It is less commercial and more suited for offbeat travelers.

While Durgadevi does not currently have night stay options, it’s highly recommended for serious wildlife enthusiasts who enjoy remote areas. The scenic beauty, gushing rivers, and wild landscape make Durgadevi a memorable safari destination.
